Job Automation Will Hit Las Vegas Hard By 2035

Job automation will hit certain metropolitan areas significantly harder than others. By 2035 two-thirds of jobs in Las Vegas will be automated.

Job Automation On the Way

Low-wage cities such as Las Vegas, NV, Orlando, FL, and Riverside-San Bernardino, CA will be among the hardest-hit metros in terms of total losses to job automation.

The impact of automation on jobs is likely to be more severe than previously anticipated. This is largely based on recent advances in machine learning and mobile robotics. Even non-routine jobs like truck driving may be affected.

Machines have already displaced service workers over the last few decades (think ATMs and self-checkout stations in grocery stores). Added intelligence now allows machines to take on tasks from room cleaning to radiology.

As job automation becomes less science fiction and more reality; changes will be coming. Maybe it’s time to download the City vs City app and see how your city compares.
