High Cost of Living: 34% of Bay Area Residents Ready to Leave

Bay Area residents have had enough. With 34% of them ready to move on, the most serious problems facing the Bay Area included high cost of living.

Bay Area Exodus?

San Francisco-area residents are at their breaking point. High costs of living are forcing residents to consider leaving according to a survey by the Bay Area Council. Why? The most common complaint is the rising cost of housing.

Those putting more of their income toward housing expenses were listed among those prepared to leave.

People who have lived in the area for five years or less are most likely to start packing their bags. Lower income residents are also among those most likely to consider leaving. Of course, not everyone has the luxury of being able to move. This has forced some residents to explore alternative living situations.
